“My own Sunday soundtrack change a lot, but the artists who have been consistently on it for the longest are NICK DRAKE, STINA NORDENSTAM, JANE SIBERRY, JONI MITCHELL and JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ. I like my Sunday sounds to have stillness in them. Much of the world is putting their feet up, or doing things they enjoy, and somehow you can feel it in the air. I like to listen to anything that brightens my energy. I get teased sometimes for listening to my JOHN CAGE-inspired albums that feature nothing but everyday sounds like birds and people watering plants of ringing little bells. I love these records because they celebrate natural sounds and illuminate the otherwise mundane. Sunday is the day that I like best, though I must admit to occasionally celebrating Sunday again on Tuesday.”
